Guidelines to assist customers in completing the process for the FEMA 50% rule can be found at HCFL.gov/sdig.
Residents with a home in a FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area who experienced wind or flooding damage should contact permitting@HCFL.gov for assistance with permitting requirements.
The following flood zones are affected: A, AE, V, VE, AO, AH, AR, A99.
Customers can check their flood zone at https://msc.fema.gov/portal/search.
The Hillsborough Property Appraiser’s Office has created a 50 Percent Improvement Calculator, which can be found by going to the Appraiser’s home page at https://www.hcpafl.org/ and selecting FEMA 50% Rule Information and Calculator from the top of the page.
Questions related to the FEMA Flood Insurance opportunity should be directed to floodsmart.gov.
Emergency Permitting
Hillsborough County Development Services is offering emergency permitting for residential and commercial structures that may need minor repairs.
Instruct customers to go to HillsGovHub | Hillsborough County, FL (hcfl.gov) to fill out the application.
For individuals without internet access or in need of assistance, in-person help is available at Frederick B. Karl County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33602, from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Two new MARC locations have opened up.
Debris Collection
If customers state that their debris was never picked up, instruct them to leave it curbside and email debrisremoval@HCFL.gov with their name, address, contact info, and the type of debris needing collection.
Customers will receive an email confirmation from the County.
The County is planning a final debris pass starting on December 9th.
